I received a phone call from Natasha Pascetta from the Glenn Beck program this afternoon.  She wanted to know if we in the Tip of Texas Tea Party were aware of Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally in Washington D.C. on August 28th.  I said that we were aware of it, but didn’t know for sure whether anyone was going.  I promised that I would go if at all possible.  I also said I’d post whatever information she sent me on our website.

This is what she sent me:

June 16, 2010

Dear Chris,

I am writing to you today to ask for your help in spreading the word about The Restoring Honor Rally. The Restoring Honor Rally will take place on August 28 at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The rally is a non-political, non-partisan event that will recognize our First Amendment rights and honor the service members who fight to protect those freedoms. Glenn Beck has partnered with the non-profit organization the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) to make this rally happen. The SOWF provides financial aid to families of special operations personnel who have been wounded or killed in battle. All net proceeds from the Restoring Honor Rally fundraising efforts will be retained by the SOWF.

Along with Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Navy Seal hero Marcus Luttrell will be speaking at the rally.  Ted Nugent and Jo Dee Messina will also be performing.

I encourage you to join us at the rally and ask you to help us spread the word about this exciting event. With only a few weeks left before the Restoring Honor Rally and there is no time to waste. Please help us to promote the rally by:

We hope that you will join us in supporting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Restoring Honor Rally by spreading the word about this event. You and your members have been such an integral group in keeping America’s values and traditions paramount. We invite you to continue celebrating America by honoring our heroes, our heritage, and our future at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28.

Sincerely,

Natasha Pascetta

BigHollywood.com  has put together a 2-part tribute (part 1, part 2) to director John Ford and his directorial masterpieces “They Were Expendable” and “The Battle of Midway.”

When Hollywood loved America more than itself.

(H/T to Derek Rowan for bringing this to my attention.

This resulted from a Mom in Alabama asking her high school son to help with a commercial for the Tea Party she was involved in organizing. Boy, does it slam the message home. Very impressive. Here is her note:

I asked Justin if he could help me make a commercial for my group’s Tea Party.  He sat down at the laptop for about an hour, and then brought this to me and asked, ‘Is this okay, Mom?’

After I finished watching it, my stomach was in my throat.

Everyone that I have sent it to has really enjoyed it, so I wanted my friends to see it.  I am so proud!

A very powerful video…turn up the sound & sit back…!!!

  • Morning Jay: Base Politics, "Indispensable" Murkowski, House Polls, and More! September 9, 2010
    1. The limits of base politics. Yesterday, I noted the apparent decision of the Obama White House to focus aggressively on mobilizing its base in advance of the midterm.  I concluded that the pursuit of this strategy so late in the cycle suggests party leaders recognize that the House is slipping away. I want to expand on that here. Yesterday at the Daily Caller we found out why John Kerry was such a flip-flopper during his Presidential run. The reason is that he just can’t help it. He even flips around when he’s not running for anything.
