Congressman Ciro Rodriguez is a Democrat from Texas. He unseated Republican Henry Bonilla a few years ago.

At the most recent city commission meeting, the attorney, who the city will pay $24,000 to redistrict the city, mentioned Rodriguez. The attorney recognizes that incumbency matters in redistricting. He also fought the Texas redistricting the state Republicans did and represented LULAC or some other Hispanic organization like LULAC. Viva La Raza!

But I digress. This post is about Congressman Rodriguez. Can he handle the truth when voters confront him with ObamaCare? (Via Breitbart Tv)

The often-controversial Rep. Pete Stark (D-Calif.) is once more catching the attention of conservative bloggers with a recording from a town hall meeting in which he ridicules a Minuteman.

When a self-identified Minuteman stood up at a town hall meeting last week in Fremont, Calif. to ask Stark a question, Stark joked, “Who are you going to kill today?”

The Minuteman asked Stark why the government isn’t doing more to “seal” the borders so the country can become “solvent” again.

“We can’t get enough Minutemen armed,” Stark said mockingly. “We’d like to get all the Minutemen armed so they can stop shooting people here.”

Lesbian Rhodes scholar and prison AIDS activist turned Air America radio jockette and MSNBC liberal commentator Rachel Maddow simply HATES Tea Partiers.   It should therefore come as no surprise that she would attribute the recent Republican revolt in New York’s 23rd district to astroturfing, ginned up by the likes of Dick Armey and FreedomWorks

On the November 3 broadcast of her show, Maddow said:

One point of interest in the New York 23 race has been the involvement of the ostensibly grassroots, but corporate-funded organization FreedomWorks, one of the many outside organizations that came in and sort of big-footed this local Republican Party race there. [Emphasis added]

Ostensibly grassroots?  I’m no Rhodes scholar, but I’m pretty sure she’s implying that FreedomWorks is NOT a grassroots organization.  The reason?  Because it is “corporate-funded.”

So . . . if a group that organizes communities accepts money from corporations, said group can no longer be considered ”grassroots.”  Therefore, ACORN is not a grassroots organization, either, since it has extorted, er received millions of dollars from banks and corporations.

But Maddow reserves her condemnation of ostensibly grassroots organizations to FreedomWorks, not ACORN.  In fact, Maddow is ACORN’s  biggest cheerleader.  A google search of “site:youtube.com rachel maddow acorn”  yielded the following hits, among others:

Rachel Maddow: The Truth About The Lies About Acorn
Rachel Maddow: Lies About Acorn & Something Unconstitutional?
Rachel Maddow: The Acorn Attack

Clearly, Maddow has a “thing” for ACORN.

But let’s go back to the Republican revolt in New York’s 23rd district.  Later in the program, Maddow gave her explanation for the townhall outburts that occurred across the country this past August:

The reason that sort of thing happened in so many different town hall meetings during the month of August all around the country is in part because those things were not spontaneous. [Emphasis added]

Maddow goes on to discuss a memo authored by a Conecticut man named Bob MacGuffie that was supposedly circulated before one or more townhall meetings, urging people to essentially disrupt the meetings Alinsky style.  Maddow’s feigned outrage was, to put it mildly, unconvincing.  Maddow’s slobbering love affair with ACORN makes her faux outrage all the more laughable.

“Yes, but what does this have to do with NY23? ” you ask.

Maddow:

In our reporting over the summer, we described the author of that disrupt the town halls memo as a FreedomWorks volunteer, because of the extreme behavior at some town halls and the amount of attention they got, FreedomWorks chairman Dick Armey tried to disassociate himself and his organization from that memo specifically on “Meet the Press” while at the same time attacking me for us reporting on it.

So, let’s thread the needle here.  Maddow contends that the Republican revolt in New York’s 23rd district was astroturfed by FreedomWorks, which is not a bonafide grassroots organization because it accepts donations given freely by evil corporations (unlike ACORN which only accepts money it can extort from corporations).  And to prove her point, Maddow accuses FreedomWorks chairman Dick Armey of commiserating with the author of a memo supposedly circulated before some townhall meetings in August.

What rubbish.  I would expect more of a Rhodes scholar.

Stop the presses: a Democrat politician has actually spoken honestly.

At a town hall meeting in Reston, Virginia, a patriot acceded to Dem Rep Jim Moran’s insulting demand that he present ID, then asked a question that has been on many minds: if the Dems have any serious interest in lowering healthcare costs, why don’t they do something about the looting bonanza by ambulance-chasing shyster lowlife like John Edwards, the astronomical cost of which is passed along to consumers?

As Rep Moron scuttled away in search of a safe crevice, Howard “Dr. Demento” Dean took the mic and amazingly told the truth. Via CNS News:

[T]he reason why tort reform is not in the bill is because the people who wrote it did not want to take on the trial lawyers … and that is the plain and simple truth.

Moron courageously crept back out and confirmed it.

Dems don’t dare aggravate trial lawyers because they have been bought and paid for by these thieving parasites, as well as by corrupt unions (which are granted a cash bonanza in the ObamaCare bill) and the ultra-left, Soros-financed Shadow Party, which wants to move toward totalitarian socialist rule — the true purpose of ObamaCare.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

America’s Leaders – Or Congressional Cowards?

Harlingen, Texas, August 19, 2009:  They came from across the Rio Grande Valley.  Citizens of every stripe, Democrats, Republicans, Independents and even non-voting youth from three counties were there. They gathered at a Town Hall meeting in Harlingen, Texas last night.

A meeting room in the city library was filled to capacity with a standing-room-only crowd of more than 150 people.  Speakers were also placed in an outside patio area next to the meeting room, where another hundred taxpayers assembled to hear information on healthcare reform and other Administration proposals.  Everyone showed up, except the two individuals elected to represent those same voters in Washington D. C.

“Here in Texas”, said one man, “we appreciate people with backbone, but that seems to be a missing body piece on the two members of Congress representing the southern tip of the Lone Star State.”

So Barney Frank finally found someone he could beat in a debate. The Congressman was speaking at a town committee meeting at Dartmouth, Massachusetts, when a crazy lady approached the microphone with a quivering rant – linking Obama’s health care plan to the Nazis. This was a lay-up for Frank, for the bug-eyed woman was a LaRouche follower, a member of a group of far-left conspiracy chuckleheads – who, like cockroaches, never go away despite the bug spray. These poor folks need medical help, not publicity, but Frank didn’t see it that way. It was his lucky day: he could speak truth to power, even if the power might have been a lonely shut-in.

Now, I am not saying this crackpot was a plant – I’ll leave that to Barbara Boxer. But the provocation was. You could practically see Barney winding up for the pitch, and he even acknowledged the Obama flyer she was carrying. See, he knew where this was going – it was a chance for him to shine with a well-rehearsed line. So while the media paints this as brave Barney standing up to white, racist Obama-haters who’ve hijacked the health care debate – to me he’s Lebron James slam-dunking Steven Hawking.

Worse, but not surprising, the wooly bully used this sad creature as a pawn to undermine potential for actual dialogue. He focused on the crazy, as if to say, “only those who question Obama are nuts.”

How, funny, just weeks earlier, you’d be called racist.

I guess this is called progress.

Tuesday, August 18
7:00 p.m.
Harlingen Library auditorium
Seating begins at 6:30

Numbered passes will be given to the first 150 who arrive.  These people will be seated in the Auditorium.  The proceedings can he heard outdoors via speakers for the remainder of those attending.  Rep. Solomon Ortiz has declined to attend and Rep. Ruben Hinojosa has not replied.  Their challengers will be present.

YOUR ATTENDANCE IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!

NEXT ITEM — A REMINDER:  RALLY this Saturday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Solomon Ortiz’s office, 1805 E. Ruben Torres.  Take your letters (hand-written is preferable) to Rep. Ortiz’s office.

IMPORTANT YOU ATTEND.  WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

Step 1:  Find a Town Hall Meeting

You can locate a town hall meeting by visiting one of the several websites collecting the times and locations for these public events nationwide.

Conservatives For Patient’s Rights
Tea Party Patriots
RedState.com

If a town hall meeting is not listed for your Congressman and Senators, contact their local offices and ask for the information.

Step 2: Be Prepared

There are a number of questions that should be asked at these public meetings but the most important thing you can do is to make it clear that you do not want the government to expand its role in private health insurance. Click HERE to see a list of provisions in the House health care bill that violate this principle along with the specific page on which they appear.

Also, if you are attending a meeting with one of your Senators, click HERE for a list of conservative health care amendments that have been offered to see how they voted. If they opposed any of these reform measures, find out why.   Senators should not be trying to justify their support for a government takeover because of a “crisis” while they vote against common sense reforms that would strengthen our private health care system.

Step 3: Take Action

After you have located a town hall meeting and done your homework, it is time to take action.   Writing letters to and calling your elected representatives is always a good thing to do, but nothing is more powerful than speaking to them in person at a town hall meeting.

Be firm in articulating your views, but also be polite.   There are still millions of Americans who have not made up their minds in this debate and we should do everything we can to make sure they know we share their values and are fighting to protect their health care too.
