To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature: It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:
a. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.
b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.
d. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.
e. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.
f. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.
g. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every”government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.
AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM ??
MAYBE WE OUGHT TO KICK OBAMA AND HIS EGG-HEAD BUDDY BUMS OUT OF OFFICE AND HIRE WAL MART TO RUN THE GOVERNMENT???
WAL MART SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS. WHY DON’T YOU GUYS JUST ADMIT IT’S WAY BEYOND YOUR PAY GRADE, AND QUIT?

Last month, the Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority (CCRMA) broke ground on a toll road that will essentially take over FM 511. They used millions of stimulus dollars to fund the project. Last time I check stimulus funding was taxpayer money. However, that is not enough for the CCRMA.
They will impose a toll on that road. Yay!
David Allex, chairman of the CCRMA and Governor Rick Perry appointee, told the Brownsville Herald,
Allex said the rumor that Brownsville residents will be taxed to pay for the toll road is a “total lie.”
I feel so much better. County residents who own vehicles do pay a big fee every year that goes into road maintenance. We are already being “taxed” by while they look for ways to impose toll roads throughout the city and the rest of the county.
I’ve often wondered why they want to build this West Parkway toll road to connect B&M Bridge along the old railroad line all the way to state highway 77.
Is it because HNTB is the architect of the Brownsville Sports Park where the toll road will meet? The CCRMA’s general engineering consultant is HNTB.
Foulmouthed City Commissioner Charlie Atkinson skipped out of Tuesday’s city commission meeting in a manly fury of fireworks and slamming of doors. Oh but before that, the story should have been Commissioner Rose Gowen iterating the need to attract free money and grants. That seemed to be her idea for funding the Sports Park.
Did somebody forget to take a macro-economics class in college? Commissioner, grants and federal subsidies are not free money. There is no such thing as a free lunch either. There is no crying in baseball.

According to the Associated Press, unemployment rose from 9.7 to 9.9% as a result of a strengthening economy.
The economy got what it needed in April: A burst of hiring that added a net 290,000 jobs, the biggest monthly total in four years. It showed employers are gaining confidence as the recovery takes deeper root.
But people who had given up on finding jobs are gaining confidence, too, and are now looking for work. That’s why the unemployment rate rose from 9.7 percent to 9.9 percent and will likely go higher.
Unemployment edges near 10% after we have pumped hundreds of billions of dollars (money that we did not have) into the economy, an act that was supposed to keep unemplyment from topping 8%, but don’t worry – the AP reports that Happy Days Are Here Again! Rising unemployment is a good thing, don’t you know that?
It doesn’t bother me that the AP and the rest of the establishment media are shills for the Obama Administration in particular and the Democrat party in general. That’s not revelatory. What bother me is that they think we’re as dumb as a box of rocks. They really think we’re stupid.
UPDATE
Mark Levin devoted his entire opening monologue this past Friday to this contralogical statist propoganda put out by the AP and others that rising unemployment in a good thing, in the face of
- massive national debt imposed on us by the Obama regime
- the impending collapse of the Euro with Greece as the proverbal canary in the coal mine
- looming oppressive taxation to support the most massive entitlement (Obamacare) in American history
- inevitablity of some form of cap-and-tax scheme to smother the last vestiges of free market capitalism in this country
- instability of the stock market, as evidenced by the DOW’s recent 1,000 point plunge last week
- government takeover of the world’s largest auto maker
- government takeover of student loans
- government takeover of the home mortgage market
- government takeover of the financial markets
…and on and on and on. The statists are trying to convince us that down is up, loss is gain, and bad is good. It’s almost as though they believe words have a magical power all their own, that all one needs to do is say that such-and-such is, and -voila! – it happens. All Obama has to do is say that rising unemployment is a good thing, and – voila! – it is.
Everybody SING:
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let’s sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again!

Yesterday The Hill reported that Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that “keeping a Democratic majority in the House is ‘too important to the country,’” which is why “she had no intention of ceding control of the House in this fall’s elections, despite Republican optimism that they can win control of the chamber.” Appearing on PBS, Pelosi addressed potential Democratic losses due to Sunday’s health care vote, “I’ve said if passing this bill means I have to walk out of my office that night, it would be with the greatest pride.” However, she cautioned, “I haven’t any intention of losing the Democratic majority.”
Sure. Here is another reason Mrs. Pelosi might want to keep a democratic majority. That’s because, as it turns out, based on my new analysis of the Recovery.org data, Democratic districts are getting 1.8 times more money on average than Republican districts. Using Recovery.gov data, and cleaning it up seriously to be able to use it, we find that Republican districts are getting on average $260.6 million in stimulus awards while democratic districts are getting on average $471.5 million. The average is award per district is $385.9 million.
Interestingly, my data also confirms that the stimulus funds are not allocated based on unemployment rates or even variations in unemployment rates. So basically, if the administration believes that government spending can create jobs, the allocation of the funds doesn’t show it.
The Washington Examiner has a project you may want to participate in
“Obama promised unemployment would not go above 8 percent this year. The reality is that it passed 10.3 percent in October. So now the stimulus books are being cooked to mollify an anxious public worried that real-world jobs continue to disappear and angry that Obama has thrown almost $1 trillion down the stimulus rathole,” the Examiner details. Then the Examiner goes on to show 75,343 Obama bogus “jobs saved or created” and asks for the public’s help to discover more. For instance:
‘The California State University system received $268.5 million in stimulus funds and claimed that the money allowed them to save over 26,000 jobs or half its workforce. But when pressed, the California State University system admitted they weren’t really going to lay off half their workforce, and that in fact few or none of these jobs would have been lost without the stimulus. “This is not really a real number of people,” a CSU spokesman said. “It’s like a budget number.”’
You can see the pork handouts near you on this map.
Unbelievably, the Obama administration wants a second “stimulus” package. Yet Obama obviously didn’t manage the first one well. And, with a $3 trillion dollar budget for 2009 of which $1.4 trillion is deficit spending, perhaps cost-cutting is in order, instead?
Do you know of any phony “jobs saved or created” stimulus projects? Send a link to the story to DFreddoso (or) MHemmingway@washingtonexaminer.com. Let’s work together and expose these lies by forwarding this email to our friends. Enough is enough!

The Bush Admin and Senator McCain warned repeatedly about Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac and what became the 2008 financial crisis, starting in 2002. Democrats resisted and kept to their party line, extending loans to people who couldn’t afford them, just like you would expect of socialists.
(From The Heritage Foundation)
While touting the potential benefits of a stimulus package earlier this year, the Administration claimed that the unemployment rate would no longer be climbing by the summer of 2009 and that it would peak at 8 percent. Now, after the passage of the stimulus bill, the Administration expects unemployment to continue to increase this year and exceed 10 percent.
In a speech at the Brookings Institution, Vice President Joseph Biden claimed credit for saving between 500,000 and 1 million jobs. There is no way to measure the number of jobs saved by the stimulus bill. A better way to judge these figures is by the Administration’s own predictions of what the stimulus bill would do to job growth and the unemployment rate. Chart 1 shows the Administration’s projections for unemployment if Congress passed the stimulus and the actual unemployment rate since then.

The unemployment rate is already one-fifth higher than the Administration predicted. It is now expected that the peak unemployment will be one-fourth higher than its predictions. Even worse, the promised job creation that was expected to lower the unemployment rate in the upcoming months has not materialized.

History repeating itself? President Obama has been accused by some economists of making the same mistakes policymakers in the US made in the Great Depression, which followed the Wall Street crash of 1929, pictured Photo: AP
His policies even have the potential to consign the US to a similar fate as Argentina, which suffered a painful and humiliating slide from first to Third World status last century, the paper says.
There are “troubling similarities” between the US President’s actions since taking office and those which in the 1930s sent the US and much of the world spiralling into the worst economic collapse in recorded history, says the new pamphlet, published by the Institute of Economic Affairs.

Sometimes, us Conservatives need to pat ourselves on the back. In my case, it’s a very hairy one. Sure, Obama is slimy enough to re-phrase, re-package and re-slip the “Public Option” through… But the fact that he even has to do THAT is a testament to what the American people have done. Sit back and enjoy your victory lap folks!
