President’s socialist takeover must be stopped
By Jeffrey T. Kuhner
The Washington Times
President Obama has engaged in numerous high crimes and misdemeanors. The Democratic majority in Congress is in peril as Americans reject his agenda. Yet more must be done: Mr. Obama should be impeached.
He is slowly – piece by painful piece – erecting a socialist dictatorship. We are not there – yet. But he is putting America on that dangerous path. He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances; subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law; presiding over a corrupt, gangster regime; and assaulting the very pillars of traditional capitalism. Like Venezuela ‘s leftist strongman, Hugo Chavez, Mr. Obama is bent on imposing a revolution from above – one that is polarizing America along racial, political and ideological lines. Mr. Obama is the most divisive president since Richard Nixon. His policies are Balkanizing the country. It’s time for him to go.
He has abused his office and violated his oath to uphold the Constitution. His health care overhaul was rammed through Congress. It was – and remains – opposed by a majority of the people. It could only be passed through bribery and political intimidation. The Louisiana Purchase, the Cornhusker Kickback, the $5 billion Medicaid set-aside for Florida Sen. Bill Nelson – taxpayer money was used as a virtual slush fund to buy swing votes. Moreover, the law is blatantly unconstitutional: The federal government does not have the right to coerce every citizen to purchase a good or service. This is not in the Constitution, and it represents an unprecedented expansion of power.
Yet Obamacare’s most pernicious aspect is its federal funding of abortion. Pro-lifers are now compelled to have their tax dollars used to subsidize insurance plans that allow for the murder of unborn children. This is more than state-sanctioned infanticide. It violates the conscience rights of religious citizens. Traditionalists – evangelicals, Catholics, Baptists, Muslims, Orthodox Jews – have been made complicit in an abomination that goes against their deepest religious values. As the law is implemented (as in Pennsylvania ) the consequences of the abortion provisions will become increasingly apparent. The result will be a cultural civil war. Pro-lifers will become deeply alienated from society; among many, a secession of the heart is taking place.
I would add that, he has also granted hundreds of waivers to groups, organizations and companies that supported his candidacy, who claimed hardship if not excluded from Obamacare. dwr
Mr. Obama is waging a frontal assault on property rights. The BP oil spill is a case in point. BP clearly is responsible for the spill and its massive economic and environmental damage to the Gulf. There is a legal process for claims to be adjudicated, but Mr. Obama has behaved more like Mr. Chavez or Russia ‘s Vladimir Putin: He has bullied BP into setting up a $20 billion compensation fund administered by an Obama appointee. In other words, the assets of a private company are to be raided to serve a political agenda. Billions will be dispensed arbitrarily in compensation to oil-spill victims – much of it to Democratic constituents. This is cronyism and creeping authoritarianism.
Mr. Obama’s multicultural socialism seeks to eradicate traditional America . He has created a command-and-control health care system. He has essentially nationalized the big banks, the financial sector, the automakers and the student loan industry. He next wants to pass “cap-and-trade,” which would bring industry and manufacturing under the heel of big government. The state is intervening in every aspect of American life – beyond its constitutionally delegated bounds. Under Mr. Obama, the Constitution has become a meaningless scrap of paper.
To provide the shock troops for his socialist takeover, Mr. Obama calls for “comprehensive immigration reform” – granting amnesty to 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens. This would forge a permanent Democratic electoral majority. It would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty. Amnesty rewards lawlessness and criminal behavior; it signifies the surrender of our porous southern border to a massive illegal invasion. It means the death of American nationhood. We will no longer be a country, but the colony of a global socialist empire.
Rather than defending our homeland, Mr. Obama’s Justice Department has sued Arizona for its immigration law. He is siding with criminals against his fellow Americans. His actions desecrate his constitutional oath to protect U.S. citizens from enemies foreign and domestic. He is thus encouraging more illegal immigration as Washington refuses to protect our borders. Mr. Obama’s decision on this case is treasonous.
As president, he is supposed to respect the rule of law. Instead, his administration has dropped charges of voter intimidation against members of the New Black Panther Party. This was done even though their menacing behavior was caught on tape: men in military garb brandishing clubs and threatening whites at a polling site. A Justice Department lawyer intimately involved in the case, J. Christian Adams, resigned in protest. Mr. Adams says that under Mr. Obama, there is a new policy: Cases involving black defendants and white victims – no matter how much they cry for justice – are not to be prosecuted. This is more than institutionalized racism. It is an abrogation of civil rights laws. The Justice Department’s behavior is illegal.. It poses a direct threat to the integrity of our democracy and the sanctity of our electoral process.
The gun running of “fast and furious” and continuing attempt to cover up, pass the blame and hide from the responsibility by Obama and Holder is indicative of Obama’s ignoring the Constitution and his lawlessness. It was undoubtedly an effort to create a public outcry for more gun control. In my opinion, his plan also was to cause chaos for the Mexican citizens by letting the guns go into the drug cartels’ hands and terrorize the Mexican citizens. Forcing them to flee north across the border. Which would create a need for a refugee program for the fleeing Mexicans. Hence, an urgent need for amnesty for the sudden influx of illegal immigrants. dwr.
Corruption in the administration is rampant. Washington no longer has a government; rather, it has a gangster regime. The Chicago way has become the Washington way. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is a political hit man.. He is an amoral, ruthless operator. It was Mr. Emanuel who reached out to Rep. Joe Sestak, Pennsylvania Democrat, offering a high-ranking job in the hopes of persuading Mr. Sestak to pull out of the primary against Sen. Arlen Specter. It was Mr. Emanuel who offered another government position to Andrew Romanoff to do the same in the Colorado Democratic Senate primary. And it was Mr. Emanuel – as the trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has revealed – who acted as the go-between to try to have Valerie Jarrett parachuted into Mr. Obama’s former Senate seat. The only question was: What did Mr. Blagojevich want in exchange?
This is not simply sleazy Chicago machine politics. It is the systematic breaking of the law – bribery, attempt to interfere (and manipulate) elections using taxpayer-funded jobs, influence peddling and abuse of power.
The common misperception on the right is that Mr. Obama is another Jimmy Carter: an incompetent liberal whose presidency is being reduced to rubble under the onslaught of repeated failures. The very opposite, however, is true. He is the most consequential president in our lifetime, transforming America into something our Founding Fathers would find not only unrecognizable, but repugnant. Like all radical revolutionaries, he is consumed by the pursuit of power – attaining it, wielding it and maximizing it. Mr.. Obama’s fledgling thug state must be stopped.
It is more crucial now than ever that the leadership in the House instigate a committee to investigate every aspect of Obama’s administration, his cabinet and his czars. He will stop at nothing, we the people should stop at nothing and turn over every stone Obama has placed to bury our Constitution. dwr.
If Republicans win back Congress in November, they should – and likely will – launch formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration. Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and ranking member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has promised as much. Mr. Obama has betrayed the American people. Impeachment is the only answer.. This usurper must fall.
Let’s look at Barack Hussein Obama’s promise to provide more open government when he came into office. The Heritage Foundation reveals below.
In February, the House Energy and Commerce Committee sent a request to the White House for Health Reform, or WHOHR, created by Obama two years ago as the “sanctum sanctorum of ObamaCare.” The committee wanted records of WHOHR’s proceedings on health reform. It seemed to be a fair request, Heritage reports. ObamaCare, after all, was Obama’s signature achievement. Surely, WHOHR kept a detailed scrapbook of treasured memories. Obama responded tersely: Providing the requested information “would be a vast and expensive undertaking” that “also would implicate longstanding Executive Branch confidentiality interests.” In short: Go fly a kite, Heritage writes.
Candidate Obama said the Clintons “made one really big mistake (with their 1993 health care plan), “and that is they took all their people and all their experts into a room and they closed the door.” Under Obama’s guidance WHOHR did the same thing. Obama promised on at least seven occasions that he would “be on C-SPAN, it’ll be streaming over the Net.” Never happened.
After Congress rammed ObamaCare through, Diane Sawyer of ABC News asked Obama about his promises to be open. “We had to make so many decisions quickly in a very difficult set of circumstances that after awhile, we started worrying more about getting the policy right than getting the process right.” He claimed transparency while still not getting the policy right.
Meetings were not always accessible because the White House maintains several row houses 100 yards outside the White House complex where officials meet with lobbyists hidden from public view. Tim Carney, press secretary, said, “We never said that there was a way to get every name in every meeting.”
The Associated Press reports that the 35 largest federal agencies received 544,360 requests under the FOI Act in 2010 – almost 41,000 more than the previous year – yet responded to nearly 12,400 fewer requests. So much for the tinhorn socialist’s promises.

Here is what makes Liberal-Progressives vote Democrat:
1. They believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.
2. They believe the government will do a better job of spending the money they earn than they would themselves.
3. They believe that Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
4. They are way too irresponsible to own a gun, and know that the local police are all they need to protect them from murderers and thieves.
5. They believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if they don’t start driving a Prius.
6. They are not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
7. They think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.
8. They believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.
9. They believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
10. They think that it’s better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle or gopher.
11. They vote Democrat because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world, they were promised “HOPE AND CHANGE”.
12. But mostly, they vote Democrat because their heads are so firmly planted up their behinds, it’s unlikely that they’ll ever have another point of view.
If logic and reason were all that was necessary to defeat leftists and their ruinous ideology, conservatives would win every election and movie stars would earn minimum wage.
I was a bystander in an online debate recently over the subject of anger in parenting (“It’s bad for parents to be angry when they punish their children” and the counter-argument “No, it isn’t”). The debate was interesting in an academic way, but the vast majority of people who vote aren’t swayed by logic or reason.
That’s why Alinsky in particular and the Left in general are so effective: They appeal to raw, unbridled emotion. It’s also why LibProgs since Wilson have been pining for the moral equivalent of war (William James, I believe) as an organizing force to impel people to “get in line” and “do their fair share.”
After all, wars are not logical. Each side in a conflict portrays the other as an evil villain that must be defeated in order to preserve or restore harmony. That’s how you convince young men to go off to war to kill people and break things.
Did you notice how animated, loud, boisterous, and angry the protesters in Madison, WI, were? Contrast that with the solemn, polite, sentimental, and tidy 9-12ers and Tea Partiers.
Who do you think would win in a street fight?
My money’s on the SEIU goons and unionista thugs.
I think we need to inject more emotion into the debate if we ever hope to defeat the LibProgs. Nobody cares how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. But they’ll watch every emotion-charged episode of American Idol.

What good is having a super-majority House in the Texas Lege if our Republicans are going to ignore the Conservative mandate the voters sent them in November, and instead — behind the exceptionally failed “leadership” of Speaker Joe Straus — are going to vote for more government intrusion and more government regulation while diminishing personal freedoms and liberties?
In this case, I’m talking about the statewide smoking ban (as an amendment on Senate Bill 1811):
The Texas House tonight passed an amendment to create a statewide smoking ban.
The close vote, 73-66, came during debate on the enormous budget-related bill, Senate Bill 1811.
The amendment by Rep. Myra Crownover, R-Denton, was one of a few opposed by the measure’s House sponsor, Rep. Jim Pitts, R-Waxahachie, that actually passed.
The amendment would ban smoking in public places, which would include bars and restaurants because they are places where anyone would be welcome.
But some of Crownover’s tea party-leaning Republican colleagues fought her on the amendment because they believed it would infringe on rights of business owners.
No, we don’t believe it would infringe on the private property rights of business owners, we know that it infringes on the private property rights of business owners. What other legal activities is the House comfortable with prohibiting? What legal activity are they going to go after next?
Making sure that we find a good Conservative candidate to primary Ms. Crownover when she’s up for re-election should be one of the top priorities of Conservatives. Right along side of putting Speaker Straus out to pasture as well.
This still has to make it through the Senate, those Republicans haven’t shown much more of a Conservative backbone than their House counterparts.
UPDATE and Correction: I was looking at the wrong record vote. My representative, Paul Workman (R-HD 47) voted NO to this freedom-robbing bill. Good for him. I originally posted that he voted in favor of it.
Business owners and a free market should be allowed to decide if smoking is permitted in a private business or not. If there is no market for a bar where smoking is permitted, then it will fail on it’s own without any government intrusion, as expressed by Rep. Jose Aliseda, R-Beeville, who succeeded in exempting pool halls:
“I am not a smoker, but I believe that a private business owner should have the right to choose their own business model.”
Well, at least we have at least one Conservative in the House GOP. In November 2012, we will look to add a bunch more Conservatives to the Texas Legislator (by kicking out a bunch of Republicans). Yeah, I’m talking about you, specifically Mr. Workman. I hope you enjoyed enriching all of your construction industry buddies and personal interests as best you could in your freshman session, because you are one-and-done, sir.

Just a few thoughts from the past couple of weeks…trying to make sense of what passes for wisdom on the political front in Washington DC.
WHAT CONSTITUTES “TORTURE”?
Should we use torture to extract information from terrorists?
This past weekend on the news talk shows…a liberal guest in supporting the idea espoused by the President that torture in not part of our national character said, “We don’t support pulling out teeth or plucking out eyes…”
The comment went unchallenged…here’s the problem…none of us support that type of physical torture…and, that type of abuse has never been alleged in the liberal’s battle against “enhanced interrogation techniques.”
Sleep deprivation, humiliation, threats of physical abuse…oh, and water boarding are all enhanced techniques that have been used by our interrogators, but actual physical abuse…never even alleged…we have consistently drawn the line at inflicting physical pain that could cause any long term damage.
So, why do the liberals include eye gouging and teeth pulling to strengthen their argument against enhanced interrogation?
Perhaps because their case against the type of interrogation used by the CIA and Military cannot stand scrutiny if the discussion is limited to the actual facts.
WHAT IS IT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND?
What was the November election about? Government spending…voters clearly wanted smaller government. But the conservatives in Congress are on the verge of folding.
It now looks doubtful that we’ll get any meaningful entitlement reform, so everything else they offer up is only playing in the margins and not solving our real problems.
Their excuse…political reality…meaning they can’t get reform passed in the Senate or signed by the President…and they are plain afraid of standing for the truth for fear of losing an election. Their thought process seems to be, “The voters sent us here to get things done”.
Yes…and No…we didn’t mean, “Do something…even if its wrong.”
We prefer gridlock to more debt. We prefer not raising the debt ceiling if it means more taxes. I’m not sure I know what the short term pain would be if we fail to raise the debt ceiling…but it is certain that the long term pain of unbridled borrowing and spending will destroy America.
WHY IS HE TALKING ABOUT IMMIGRATION?
Have you asked yourself why the president chose last week to address border security and amnesty for illegal immigrants?
It would seem to most Americans that we ought to be hearing his plan on reducing the deficit…or on entitlement reform…or creating jobs…or his plan to reduce gas prices…or a coherent energy policy…or plans to deal with the looming inflation. You think there might be some other things that need more immediate attention?
But think about it…he’s worn out the Osama Bin Laden story…or at least doesn’t like the questions surfacing about the morality of assassinations versus water-boarding. He is bankrupt of any ideas on how to fix what’s broken. His idea of leadership is to call for another commission…so what’s he got to say?
He’s using a tactic we’ve all employed…when you don’t like the current conversation…change the subject. Have you noticed how often this President changes the subject? And, by the way it wouldn’t hurt to buy a few Hispanics votes given his unpopularity with other large voting blocks.
UNDERSTANDING POLLS
What do you make of recent polls showing strong support for a third party?
A majority of Americans support the idea of a viable third party while only 32% believe the current two party system is adequate.
Conventional wisdom completely misreads these poll numbers by focusing on a third party presidential candidate.
The great discontent…and support for a third party rises from the fact that most Americans feel betrayed by Congress. Bickering, posturing, compromise and deceit are the hallmarks of both parties and Congress today.
A third party electing 35 Congressmen would be able to name the Speaker and committee chairs and with that, greatly influence the budget…and the size of the federal government. A parliamentary House would change DC.
A friend, Tim Cox has a plan take over the House in one election cycle…though he is unwilling to call his plan a third party…it truly is an unconventional third party focused solely on the House of Representatives. For more on this potential 2012 third party go to Tim’s website: www.goooh.com.
If you have not yet checked out Tim’s site, put it on your “to-do” list. Mr. Cox, an ordinary man with an extraordinary passion for America may just have the solution. In the past we’ve said, we can’t vote for a third party conservative because that will simply drain votes from the Republican and let the Democrat win the election…
ASK YOURSELF THIS…given that neither party is willing to take our deficits and national debt seriously…does either party really offer a solution to our crisis?
IF YOUR ANSWER IS NO…then ultimately our only hope may be a viable third party representation in the House of Representatives…
COULD IT BE ANY WORSE???

- The Democrat party is no longer a party that patriotic Americans can trust or identify with.
- In just two short years, the Democrat party has increased out national debt 44 percent, and it now stands at $13,000,000,000,000.
- The Democrat party has governed against and in spite of the will of the American people.
- The Obama Administration is composed of radicals, community agitators, environmental whackjobs, self-proclaimed marxists, terrorist sympathizers, alinsky-ites, anticapitalists, anti-Constitutionalists, and other assorted America-hating statists.
- The Democrat party as a whole – not merely its leadership – is to blame for the serial assaults suffered by our sacred institutions, and the damage wrought may be irreversible.
- The Democrat party and their willing accomplices in the national media sold the American people a bill of goods with Barack Obama, and we want our money (along with our national pride) BACK.
- A radical Alinsky-inspired Democrat as President, unstoppable Democrat majorities in both Houses of Congress, numerous activist judges throughout the Judiciary, unelected bureaucrats beholden to an elite ruling class – There is no balance in government today.
- The prevailing political philosophy of today’s Democrat party is decidely un-American.
- Every compromise with the Democrat majority in Congress has been harmful to our Constitutional republic.
- Two years of Obamanomics proves that this is not the “change” we need or want.
I know, I know. It’s shameless self-promotion. But Mark Levin is, well, the Great One. He is a source of great inspiration to me, a truly Great American. Unafraid, uncowed by the Alinsky-ites and the race-hustlers, Levin speaks truth in the face of Orwellian spin by a shamelessly biased politico-media complex. Levin’s book Liberty and Tyranny is much more than a Conservative Mainfesto; it is a roadmap to victory over the statists that have insinuated themselves at all levels of our government and our culture.
The thought that Mark Levin actually read something I wrote, and encouraged others to read it, is deeply gratifying and humbling.
