Investor’s Business Daily Editorials

  • Illinois Taxes: How Blue Can You Get? - “Fiscal Policy: Unimpressed by data showing that businesses, jobs and people flee high-tax states, the Land of Lincoln opts to squeeze the last penny out of taxpayers with a whopping 75% income-tax increase.”
  • Spinning The Data  - ”Jobs: The White House will spin the lower unemployment rate as a great triumph, but it’s because people are giving up. The time to get the federal behemoth off the backs of job-creators is now.”
  •  The End Begins? - “The Road To Repeal: The campaign to rid the country of ObamaCare got off to a running start Friday when a procedural hurdle was easily cleared in the House. So far, so good for the new majority.”
  •  The White House Daley Show - “Ethics: Republicans who plan to investigate the administration need to look into its handling of the Daley affair. Was Bill Daley brought in so that ex-White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel could become Chicago’s mayor?”

There is an older post here on our Tip of Texas Tea Party website about KURV’s Ray Coughenour.

Many now refuse to call him “Col. Ray” because he is using his military rank for entertainment value. The man is retired but still wants to be called Kernel, ahem, I mean, Colonel Ray.

Rush Limbaugh is upset over the Supreme Court ruling that sex offenders can be held beyond their prison terms. The liberal wing along with Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito ruled in a seven to two ruling that this was perfectly acceptable.

The majority opinionwas written by Stephen Breyer, who is a huge proponent of following international law.  And the majority opinion written by Breyer argued the federal civil commitment law to Congress, long-standing authority to provide mental health care to prisoners in its custody if they might prove dangerous, whether sexually or otherwise.  So apparently at the root of the ruling, according to Stephen Breyer, is that holding a prisoner in jail is the same as requiring him to get psychiatric treatment, that we’re doing it for their own good, that they’re nuts, that somebody who is dangerous sexually, obviously Looney Toons, and we’re going to keep ‘em there under the guise of helping them, psychiatric treatment.  Justice Thomas wrote, “Congress’ power, however, is fixed by the Constitution.  It does not expand merely to suit the states’ policy preferences, or to allow state officials to avoid difficult choices regarding the allocation of state funds.”  Now, we’ve often heard the left describe various Supreme Court decisions they disagree with, “Well, you know, we’re heading down a slippery slope now.”  And this could be a slippery slope.  I mean if they want to say they can hold sexual offenders, sexual predators who are still dangerous because they still need psychiatric treatment, who in this country does the left think does not need psychiatric treatment?  Chilling, chilling ruling here today, if you ask me.

Go to Rush Limbaugh’s website to find out more including him questioning why it’s okay for sexual predators to be held indefinitely but not terrorists.

Rush thinks the main reason Obama nominated Elena Kagan is because she is a mirror image of Obama. Rumor has it that she even plays basketball and smokes. Don’t look for any serious opposition from the Senate Democrats. They will nominate her because she’s an Obamatron. Qualifications are not nearly as important as ideology.

Found out about this by listening to Tuesday’s podcast of the Hugh Hewitt radio program.  Apparently, Obama has committed to a no-use policy against non-nuclear nations in compliance with some non-proliferation treaty.  So, if Venezuela attacks us with biological or chemical weapons, we cannot respond with a nuke.  What’s worse, Oabama has put a halt to the modernization of our nuclear arsenal.  China and Russia can go full steam ahead on new nukes and new delivery systems, but we are just going to sit back and do nothing.

This is what you get when you elect a radical leftist to the POTUS.  Over fifty years of effective nuclear deterrent policy, down the drain.  Bin Laden must be laughing his a** off.

Obama is destroying the American economy.   He has done great harm to our health care system.  He seeks to impose crushing taxes and a regulatory burden on the economy like never before in our history.  And now he seeks to disarm us.  It would be as though your local police force decided to stop carrying guns in the expectation that criminals would, too.  It is naive in the extreme.  This makes Neville Chamberlain look like a war hawk.  Obama is in over his head.

Whether it’s local, state or national news, KURV is a great Valley source for news. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on the web or on the radio. It’s a welcome relief from living a blue sea.

For as much as local Tea Partiers depend on it, I can’t imagine why we continue to put with Ray Coughenour.

It’s almost a requirement to refer to the man as “Col. Ray”. Local, state, and national politicians and pundits call him that when they call in. He gets more use out of a military rank than Private James Ryan.

It’s hard to get comfortable with a man that refuses to use his last name. Listeners used to see his last name when he first arrived in the Rio Grande Valley. Now all we see is “Col. Ray”. Read the rest of this entry »

TTTP Visitors,

I received this email from L. Garcia this evening and am passing it along:

Hi Chris,
In case you  missed it, Sergio had Rep. Cuellar on his Saturday morning show on KURV. Cuellar answered call-in questions (poorly) from about 9 am to 10 am. Several MTP members, including myself were able to ask questions. It has come to our attention KURV needs to hear from citizens who appreciate what Sergio is doing. That morning, he did what no one else in all the Valley media has done, ask the bold questions and refuse to accept spin answers. May I suggest any TTTP or HTP members who heard the show or are glade someone like Sergio is on the airwaves contact KURV’s manager, Bert Collins and tell him so? His email address is bcollins@bmpradio.com   Thanks!

Ever since the Democrats took control of Congress, they have sought to take control of talk radio… or to be more precise, conservative talk radio. You see… on radio, the market place (yes, left-wingers hate the “market place”) has spoken, and people love conservative talk radio. Not only that, but they hate liberal talk radio.

There have been multiple attempts to revive the so-called “fairness doctrine” by the Democrats which would force radio stations to carry left-wing talk shows whether the listening audience wanted them or not. These attempts were met with enough resistance, that the Democrats stopped trying to overtly bring back the “fairness doctrine.” However, that simply means they are trying covert methods instead… thus, the creation of America’s new “diversity czar” at the FCC… and this guy is a real doozy.

Boycott Geico

Boycott Geico

Atlas reader Richard wrote to GEICO about their pulling their ads from the Glenn Beck show. Their pathetic excuse, “little benefit to us if a program gets so much attention that our message is drowned out”. They will advertise on vile TV shows and such but real news offends them. Their unpatriotic stand against free speech should offend YOU, please pull your business today.

Click here to read Geico’s cop out.

The petition (from www.iPetitions.com)

Recently an email campaign has been started to get Glenn Beck off the air by targeting his advertisers. Unfortunately, these efforts have succeeded in removing five sponsors with possibly more to follow suit. It’s time we let these companies know what Glenn Beck supporters stand for and what removing their advertising means to us. This petition will be sent to all of Glenn Beck’s sponsors who have pulled their advertising. It will also be sent to current sponsors as they are continuing to be targeted.

Click here to read more and SIGN THE PETITION to support Glenn Beck.

The Opposition – What We’re Up Against

Some of the most vile, disgusting, and reprehensible Internet content comes from the political Left.  If you’re new to the Internet, fair warning: Don’t click on the link below if you have a low tolerance for filth.  This sort of thing is nothing new.  Sites like the Daily Kos and MoveOn.org are rife with it.  The Left seems positively enamored with the “F” word and low speech in general.

Not surprisingly, the Left HATES Glenn Beck with unbridled passion.  One example of many is the Wonkette blog.  If vile language offends you, do not click on this link.  The first person to resort to low language in a debate is the first to run out of ideas.  The political Left ran out of ideas many years ago, but it is instructive to take a furtive peek into their twisted world from time to time, though.

Mark Lloyd, "Chief Diversity Officer" of FCC

(From HotAir.com) Mark Lloyd, newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer of the Federal Communications Commission, has called for making private broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs to allow public broadcasting outlets to spend the same on their operations as the private companies do.
