The first step is admitting you have a problem. In a Facebook thread mentioned Wednesday, Sylvia Garza Perez, proponent of the local Democrat shill Coffee Party, wrote,

These guys and gals are always out there…as good democrats [sic] we should also stand out there and let them know that we are in this mess because of them.

Instead of accepting the problem she says it’s our fault. We are not Republicans. We are nonpartisan and believe in fiscal responsibility.

Nevertheless, you are a “good democrat” and so is your foulmouthed city commissioner Charlie Atkinson. We didn’t support a health care bill that allows our tax dollars to kill babies. We don’t support corrupt officials. We don’t support tax increases that hurts our economy. We don’t support eco-fascism. We don’t support spending 4 million dollars per job to support our local economy because we think you should get a lot more than one job for that $4 million to stimulate our local economy.

How is it our fault “we are in the mess we’re in” Sylvia?  If anything it’s Democrat policy of spending everything we don’t have that’s gotten us on the verge of a double-dip recession. If anything it’s Democrats unwilling to reign in Freddie Mac and telling banks they need to give out money like it grows on trees to people who financially could not pay back the money. If anything it’s Democrats who continue to vote Democrat because they supposedly support poor people.

We are not Republicans. Therefore, the class warfare business that ”good democrats” live off come election day is irrelevant to the Tea Party. As “good democrats” how much corruption are you willing to stomach so that you will be willing to accept “the mess” in full?

You’re right on one thing, Sylvia. We do protest. We lost the health care battle, but we don’t give up. We witnessed how the counter-protest you started with your “good democrat” county chair flopped. Keep hope alive.

Received this from a fellow Tea Party member today:

The word document below shows a dialogue between several facebookers.  They are commenting on a picture taken by Commissioner M. Zamora (of Brownsville) and posted on her facebook account.  The last comment is made by

<- Charlie Atkinson

who is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer and also a Brownsville city commissioner.

Just thought you might want to let those Brownsville Tea Party members that listen to KURV know what one of their publicly elected officials think of them.

Here is a link to an article about this guy:

I enjoy your shows.  Keep up the good work.

Definitely not a good idea for elected officeholders to demean registered voters with a vulgar, sexually-laden epithet.

The integration with Facebook seems to have succeeded. Time to celebrate with cookies and milk.

Chris,

I wanted to extend an invitation to you to see Governor Rick Perry in Brownsville on Weds, October 7, 2009 at 3:45pm at the Cobbleheads Bar and Grill.

I’d love to see you and the tea party folks there. Governor Perry is a very strong advocate of the tea party movement.

When it came out last week that Milwaukee mayor (and Wisconsin Democratic candidate for governor in the upcoming recall election) Tom Barrett had skipped out on two ceremonies honoring Milwaukee police officers, there was some questions about what Barrett thought could possibly be more important that going to, say, a memorial service for slain Wisconsin poli […]

Activist Chen Guangcheng and his immediate family are out of China. This is a good thing, and the Obama Administration deserves credit for making it happen. There will be plenty of opportunity for the American political system to assess the Administration’s initial handling of the matter and what it says about its foreign policy priorities. There are certain […]

  • Liberals Say Public Broadcasting’s $445 Million Federal Subsidy Is ‘Tiny’ May 19, 2012
NPR, PBS and other public broadcasting outlets are asking taxpayers to fork over $445 million in funding for the next fiscal year. But not if Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) have anything to say about it. The conservative lawmakers want to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the steward of the federal government’s “investment” […]

  • NATO and Missile Defense: Words in a Summit Declaration Will Not Be Enough May 18, 2012
When NATO leaders meet this weekend in Chicago, they are expected to announce an Interim Missile Defense Capability in Europe. This announcement might read well in the summit’s declaration, but a lot more will need to be done before the members of the alliance will be protected from the ever-increasing missile threat. According to NATO’s strategic concept, “ […]

Here we go again. Last Saturday, Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio played basketball and beat San Antonio’s Edison High School in a state playoff game.
