Investor’s Business Daily Editorials

  • Illinois Taxes: How Blue Can You Get? - “Fiscal Policy: Unimpressed by data showing that businesses, jobs and people flee high-tax states, the Land of Lincoln opts to squeeze the last penny out of taxpayers with a whopping 75% income-tax increase.”
  • Spinning The Data  - ”Jobs: The White House will spin the lower unemployment rate as a great triumph, but it’s because people are giving up. The time to get the federal behemoth off the backs of job-creators is now.”
  •  The End Begins? - “The Road To Repeal: The campaign to rid the country of ObamaCare got off to a running start Friday when a procedural hurdle was easily cleared in the House. So far, so good for the new majority.”
  •  The White House Daley Show - “Ethics: Republicans who plan to investigate the administration need to look into its handling of the Daley affair. Was Bill Daley brought in so that ex-White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel could become Chicago’s mayor?”

The Swearing In Ceremony for Carlos H. Cascos (R) as Cameron County Judge will be streamed live at

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rgvtptv

beginning at about 5:45 PM on Monday, January 3, 2011.  The event is scheduled to take place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

That’s the plan, anyway. I’ll get to the courthouse at least an hour before the ceremony so I can set up. I’ve been assured that an IT guy will be on hand to provide me with the necessary network priviliges to stream the event.

They’re just meaningless words, right Mr. President?

(Hat Tip to The Right Scoop and The Mark Levin Show)

Jake Tapper of ABCnews has acquiesced to liberal tweeps and the White House and deemed “ObamaCare” a pejorative. It will not be used anymore.

Say it ain’t so! How can this be? Pejorative is defined as having a negative connotation. It’s a disparaging remark.

The question that everyone is asking is “how can it be a pejorative if Obama’s proud of his accomplishment?”

Better yet, you would think he would want to own the rainbow farts right?

I happen to agree with AnaJay: Since “reform” defined indicates improvement, can we object to the use of the term “Health Care Reform”?

Earlier I wrote this commentary about what people say about the Tea Party and how most of the local Leftist blogs refuse to blog roll us as we do for them. Well, after perusing national conservative blogs, I cam across this post from Hot Air. Consider this a complement to my commentary.

Is the Tea Party as racist as the media and leading Democrats have portrayed?  Gallup’s demos of the Tea Party look very close to that of the overall American demos on ethnicity.  Whites make up 79% of the Tea Party and 75% of the population; blacks, 6% of the Tea Party and 11% of the population; and “other” in the Tea Party exactly matches the general population at 15%.

The demographic similarities don’t stop there.  The educational background of Tea Party followers almost exactly matches that of the general population.  Among age demos, the differences between the two are no more than two points for any of the four categories used by Gallup.  The same is true of employment profiles, although ironically Tea Party followers tend slightly more to be employed full-time than not.  Income demographics differ a little more, but not by much.  Low-income earners (less than $30K) make up 19% of the Tea Party, as compared to 25% of the general population, and those making more than $50K are 55% of the Tea Party rather than the 50% of the general population, but that’s not much of a difference.

Be sure to read Hot Air‘s entire post. It has some links to more polling done on the Tea Party nationally. Has the meme ”jumped the shark“ (via Hot Air and The Moderate Voice)?

As I say, the negative media meme of the Tea Party may have been debunked. Local blogs need to stop being offended by us. They should recognize our valid opinions as their opinions are respected by our core local group.

Some naysayers refuse to give us a chance. I must admit there are a lot of good people in our growing organization. Many of us spend a lot of time and effort making us an intelligent voice for a better government and community for our children and country.

These naysayers do not deter us. At first, one Socialist local blogger refused our request to link our site. Weeks later, he changed his mind. We thank him for that. Unfortunately, he took the opportunity to take a swipe at us.

But if the Tea Party is your cup of tea, then read this blog. In fact even it it offends you as much as it offends me, read this blog. The more you know, even about those with whom you disagree, they better off you will be.

That’s a back handed compliment if I’ve ever heard one. At least he linked to us.

Last week, David Letterman (Part two and three) interviewed Standpoint, Idaho Tea Party president Pam Stout. She did not play the part of moron as I’m sure those who call us “Teaba@@*%$” would expect. In fact, she was very articulate, never offensive. Our Tip of Texas Tea Party blog  demonstrates the same.

As a loose national organization, we are all shades of activists as every movement has its fringe. As a local organization, we all want what is best for our community both at the local and national level. That is our agenda. Further we want to see less offensive government spending and return to fiscal responsibility. We want corruption to end, which sounds more Pollyanna than offensive.

We hope the Leftists in Brownsville would join our agenda and cause. We sent out an olive branch to local Leftist blogs by including them in our blog roll. We recognize they too have a voice. Only the Socialist, to our knowledge, linked to us. Isn’t that offensive?

Brent Budowsky of the Hill has set his eyes on “Matt Drudge and the Republican delusion.”

Recently a Gallup poll, of course highlighted on Drudge, found that Obama’s numbers had (then) turned more unfavorable than favorable. This has (now) dramatically changed, unreported by Drudge, with Obama’s favorables now well above his unfavorables…Drudge may not report it, but the healthcare bill passing has put the president on the upswing…

Budowsky called out the Drudge Report and demanded he cower into submission. Snap! Does the “delusional” Drudge do post the newest USAToday/Gallup poll as instructed? Why yes, in a way.

Drudge posts the most recent survey. Score Budowsky! No, not really. Well maybe in the shill’s delusional state did he score.

Brash spending on both sides of the aisle has to stop!

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, [Republican National Committee Chairman Michael] Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

All media, mainstream or otherwise, cannot continue with the innuendos either. I’m not defending or excusing the actions of the RNC reimbursing anyone for this kind of shenanigans. Moral majority indeed. But as Hot Air points out, Read the rest of this entry »

Activist Chen Guangcheng and his immediate family are out of China. This is a good thing, and the Obama Administration deserves credit for making it happen. There are certain […]

  • Liberals Say Public Broadcasting’s $445 Million Federal Subsidy Is ‘Tiny’ May 19, 2012
NPR, PBS and other public broadcasting outlets are asking taxpayers to fork over $445 million in funding for the next fiscal year. But not if Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) have anything to say about it. The conservative lawmakers want to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the steward of the federal government’s “investment” […]

When NATO leaders meet this weekend in Chicago, they are expected to announce an Interim Missile Defense Capability in Europe. According to NATO’s strategic concept, “ […]
