Beat Back Barack
By William L. Gensert

There has been much talk lately about the need for the Republican presidential nominee to move to the center. This is a mistake. The only way to beat Barack Obama is to oppose him rigorously, relentlessly, and without remorse.

This election needs a fiscal, foreign policy, and economic conservative. The man to defeat Obama must present the nation a clear choice between further socialism under Obama’s control or prosperity through economic freedom, but that’s not all; he will need to show the world who Barack Obama is.

Americans may be inattentive, or even self-involved, but we are not idiots. Anyone can see the almost three years of failed Obama governance and know that the meme which the legacy media is trying to sell is a lie. Obama is not just a failure; he is a spectacular failure — and it’s not George Bush’s fault, or that of an obstructionist Congress.

President’s socialist takeover must be stopped

By Jeffrey T. Kuhner
The Washington Times

President Obama has engaged in numerous high crimes and misdemeanors. The Democratic majority in Congress is in peril as Americans reject his agenda. Yet more must be done: Mr. Obama should be impeached.

He is slowly – piece by painful piece – erecting a socialist dictatorship. We are not there – yet. But he is putting America on that dangerous path. He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances; subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law; presiding over a corrupt, gangster regime; and assaulting the very pillars of traditional capitalism. Like Venezuela ‘s leftist strongman, Hugo Chavez, Mr. Obama is bent on imposing a revolution from above – one that is polarizing America along racial, political and ideological lines. Mr. Obama is the most divisive president since Richard Nixon. His policies are Balkanizing the country. It’s time for him to go.

He has abused his office and violated his oath to uphold the Constitution. His health care overhaul was rammed through Congress. It was – and remains – opposed by a majority of the people. It could only be passed through bribery and political intimidation. The Louisiana Purchase, the Cornhusker Kickback, the $5 billion Medicaid set-aside for Florida Sen. Bill Nelson – taxpayer money was used as a virtual slush fund to buy swing votes. Moreover, the law is blatantly unconstitutional: The federal government does not have the right to coerce every citizen to purchase a good or service. This is not in the Constitution, and it represents an unprecedented expansion of power.

Yet Obamacare’s most pernicious aspect is its federal funding of abortion. Pro-lifers are now compelled to have their tax dollars used to subsidize insurance plans that allow for the murder of unborn children. This is more than state-sanctioned infanticide. It violates the conscience rights of religious citizens. Traditionalists – evangelicals, Catholics, Baptists, Muslims, Orthodox Jews – have been made complicit in an abomination that goes against their deepest religious values. As the law is implemented (as in Pennsylvania ) the consequences of the abortion provisions will become increasingly apparent. The result will be a cultural civil war. Pro-lifers will become deeply alienated from society; among many, a secession of the heart is taking place.
I would add that, he has also granted hundreds of waivers to groups, organizations and companies that supported his candidacy, who claimed hardship if not excluded from Obamacare.  dwr
Mr. Obama is waging a frontal assault on property rights. The BP oil spill is a case in point. BP clearly is responsible for the spill and its massive economic and environmental damage to the Gulf. There is a legal process for claims to be adjudicated, but Mr. Obama has behaved more like Mr. Chavez or Russia ‘s Vladimir Putin: He has bullied BP into setting up a $20 billion compensation fund administered by an Obama appointee. In other words, the assets of a private company are to be raided to serve a political agenda. Billions will be dispensed arbitrarily in compensation to oil-spill victims – much of it to Democratic constituents. This is cronyism and creeping authoritarianism.

Mr. Obama’s multicultural socialism seeks to eradicate traditional America . He has created a command-and-control health care system. He has essentially nationalized the big banks, the financial sector, the automakers and the student loan industry. He next wants to pass “cap-and-trade,” which would bring industry and manufacturing under the heel of big government. The state is intervening in every aspect of American life – beyond its constitutionally delegated bounds. Under Mr. Obama, the Constitution has become a meaningless scrap of paper.

To provide the shock troops for his socialist takeover, Mr. Obama calls for “comprehensive immigration reform” – granting amnesty to 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens. This would forge a permanent Democratic electoral majority. It would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty. Amnesty rewards lawlessness and criminal behavior; it signifies the surrender of our porous southern border to a massive illegal invasion. It means the death of American nationhood. We will no longer be a country, but the colony of a global socialist empire.

Rather than defending our homeland, Mr. Obama’s Justice Department has sued Arizona for its immigration law. He is siding with criminals against his fellow Americans. His actions desecrate his constitutional oath to protect U.S. citizens from enemies foreign and domestic. He is thus encouraging more illegal immigration as Washington refuses to protect our borders. Mr. Obama’s decision on this case is treasonous.

As president, he is supposed to respect the rule of law. Instead, his administration has dropped charges of voter intimidation against members of the New Black Panther Party. This was done even though their menacing behavior was caught on tape: men in military garb brandishing clubs and threatening whites at a polling site. A Justice Department lawyer intimately involved in the case, J. Christian Adams, resigned in protest. Mr. Adams says that under Mr. Obama, there is a new policy: Cases involving black defendants and white victims – no matter how much they cry for justice – are not to be prosecuted. This is more than institutionalized racism. It is an abrogation of civil rights laws. The Justice Department’s behavior is illegal.. It poses a direct threat to the integrity of our democracy and the sanctity of our electoral process.

The gun running of “fast and furious” and continuing attempt to cover up, pass the blame and hide from the responsibility by Obama and Holder is indicative of Obama’s ignoring  the Constitution and his lawlessness. It was undoubtedly an effort to create a public outcry for more gun control. In my opinion, his plan also was to cause chaos for the Mexican citizens by letting the guns go into the drug cartels’ hands and terrorize the Mexican citizens. Forcing them to flee north across the border. Which would create a need for a refugee program for the fleeing Mexicans. Hence, an urgent need for amnesty for the sudden influx of illegal immigrants. dwr.

Corruption in the administration is rampant. Washington no longer has a government; rather, it has a gangster regime. The Chicago way has become the Washington way. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is a political hit man.. He is an amoral, ruthless operator. It was Mr. Emanuel who reached out to Rep. Joe Sestak, Pennsylvania Democrat, offering a high-ranking job in the hopes of persuading Mr. Sestak to pull out of the primary against Sen. Arlen Specter. It was Mr. Emanuel who offered another government position to Andrew Romanoff to do the same in the Colorado Democratic Senate primary. And it was Mr. Emanuel – as the trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has revealed – who acted as the go-between to try to have Valerie Jarrett parachuted into Mr. Obama’s former Senate seat. The only question was: What did Mr. Blagojevich want in exchange?

This is not simply sleazy Chicago machine politics. It is the systematic breaking of the law – bribery, attempt to interfere (and manipulate) elections using taxpayer-funded jobs, influence peddling and abuse of power.

The common misperception on the right is that Mr. Obama is another Jimmy Carter: an incompetent liberal whose presidency is being reduced to rubble under the onslaught of repeated failures. The very opposite, however, is true. He is the most consequential president in our lifetime, transforming America into something our Founding Fathers would find not only unrecognizable, but repugnant. Like all radical revolutionaries, he is consumed by the pursuit of power – attaining it, wielding it and maximizing it. Mr.. Obama’s fledgling thug state must be stopped.

It is more crucial now than ever that the leadership in the House instigate a committee to investigate every aspect of Obama’s administration, his cabinet and his czars. He will stop at nothing, we the people should stop at nothing and turn over every stone Obama has placed to bury our Constitution. dwr.

If Republicans win back Congress in November, they should – and likely will – launch formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration. Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and ranking member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has promised as much. Mr. Obama has betrayed the American people. Impeachment is the only answer.. This usurper must fall.

American Thinker is my favorite place to go for thoughtful conservative commentary. Sometimes, the comments that follow a piece are just as interesting as the article itself. The comment below followed an article by George Picard titled “Obama’s Racial Spoil System.” It is an excellent article, but what really caught my attention was this comment:

Stanley Kurtz coined a term to describe Barack Obama’s modus operandi as a state senator. He gave him the moniker Senator Stealth. One way of understanding Barack Obama’s stealthiness and capacity for hiding and befogging is that he is psychologically Islamic. Christianity calls for a boldness and directness of expression — the yea that is yea. However, Islamic doctrine is less straightforward. For example, the Islamic doctrine of taqiya means concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of imminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury. It is impossible to imagine Barack Obama bravely leading soldiers in battle, but he has demonstrated an affinity for drone weapons. Does this affinity reflect his psychological incorporation of taqiya?

This theme of “otherness” in Obama is nothing new. But when you consider taqiya against the backdrop of Obama’s presidency so far, there are some interesting parallels. Twenty years of Jeremiah Wright had to have some effect.

Let’s look at Barack Hussein Obama’s promise to provide more open government when he came into office. The Heritage Foundation reveals below.

In February, the House Energy and Commerce Committee sent a request to the White House for Health Reform, or WHOHR, created by Obama two years ago as the “sanctum sanctorum of ObamaCare.” The committee wanted records of WHOHR’s proceedings on health reform. It seemed to be a fair request, Heritage reports. ObamaCare, after all, was Obama’s signature achievement. Surely, WHOHR kept a detailed scrapbook of treasured memories. Obama responded tersely: Providing the requested information “would be a vast and expensive undertaking” that “also would implicate longstanding Executive Branch confidentiality interests.” In short: Go fly a kite, Heritage writes.

Candidate Obama said the Clintons “made one really big mistake (with their 1993 health care plan), “and that is they took all their people and all their experts into a room and they closed the door.” Under Obama’s guidance WHOHR did the same thing. Obama promised on at least seven occasions that he would “be on C-SPAN, it’ll be streaming over the Net.” Never happened.

After Congress rammed ObamaCare through, Diane Sawyer of ABC News asked Obama about his promises to be open. “We had to make so many decisions quickly in a very difficult set of circumstances that after awhile, we started worrying more about getting the policy right than getting the process right.” He claimed transparency while still not getting the policy right.

Meetings were not always accessible because the White House maintains several row houses 100 yards outside the White House complex where officials meet with lobbyists hidden from public view. Tim Carney, press secretary, said, “We never said that there was a way to get every name in every meeting.”

The Associated Press reports that the 35 largest federal agencies received 544,360 requests under the FOI Act in 2010 – almost 41,000 more than the previous year – yet responded to nearly 12,400 fewer requests. So much for the tinhorn socialist’s promises.

A lot has happened since my last posting, and I wont’ even attempt to summarize everything up to now. But for me, the most significant news item in the last few weeks has been Weinergate. Anthony Weiner finally resigned from Congress the other day, and good riddance to bad rubbish.

The fact that Democrat Congressmen can still be shamed out of office gives me hope. I’m not hopeful that LibProg Dems will ever become moral creatures. I’m hopeful, not delusional. What sustains me is the thought that Weiner’s antics are still repulsive to many people; enough, anyway, to cause him to slink away to whatever rock he can crawl under. So there is still real hope for this country.

LibProg Dems, however, are a lost cause and simply must be defeated. There is no other option, no halfway “reaching across the aisle” crap. Creeping progressivism got us here, teetering on the edge of an economic precipice that threatens our way of life and the lives of succeeding generations of Americans far into the future. It’s just crazy. LibProgism is undiluted insanity.

The resemblance is positively uncanny.

If logic and reason were all that was necessary to defeat leftists and their ruinous ideology, conservatives would win every election and movie stars would earn minimum wage.

I was a bystander in an online debate recently over the subject of anger in parenting (“It’s bad for parents to be angry when they punish their children” and the counter-argument “No, it isn’t”). The debate was interesting in an academic way, but the vast majority of people who vote aren’t swayed by logic or reason.

That’s why Alinsky in particular and the Left in general are so effective: They appeal to raw, unbridled emotion. It’s also why LibProgs since Wilson have been pining for the moral equivalent of war (William James, I believe) as an organizing force to impel people to “get in line” and “do their fair share.”

After all, wars are not logical. Each side in a conflict portrays the other as an evil villain that must be defeated in order to preserve or restore harmony. That’s how you convince young men to go off to war to kill people and break things.

Did you notice how animated, loud, boisterous, and angry the protesters in Madison, WI, were? Contrast that with the solemn, polite, sentimental, and tidy 9-12ers and Tea Partiers.

Who do you think would win in a street fight?

My money’s on the SEIU goons and unionista thugs.

I think we need to inject more emotion into the debate if we ever hope to defeat the LibProgs. Nobody cares how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. But they’ll watch every emotion-charged episode of American Idol.

Public employees are indispensable. No city or town can do without its firefighters, police, paramedics, sanitation workers, and so on. Even the tiniest of municipalities need people to sweep the floors of City Hall, stuff sheets of paper into manilla folders, round up stray dogs and cats, and so on. I have no idea how many city, county, state, and federal employees there are in Brownsville, but there must be quite a few.

Public employees are indispensable, but it really irks me when I read about public employees threatening to strike over benefits, pay, or whatever. At some point, collective bargaining becomes a euphemism for a shakedown, for extortion. You don’t want to cross firefighters or the police because . . . Why, exactly? If the city doesn’t give in to the demands of, say, the firefighters union, will they decide to no longer put out fires? Or will they continue in their capacity as firefighters, only in a somewhat more diminished capacity, meaning they’ll take their time getting to the blaze?

So we’ve gotten to the point where over the years public employees have demanded and been given class “A” benefit packages and retirement benefits that were unsustainable and unrealistic back when they were instituted, but were instituted anyway. And we’re broke.

Scary stuff.

Just a few thoughts from the past couple of weeks…trying to make sense of what passes for wisdom on the political front in Washington DC.

WHAT CONSTITUTES “TORTURE”?

Should we use torture to extract information from terrorists?

This past weekend on the news talk shows…a liberal guest in supporting the idea espoused by the President that torture in not part of our national character said, “We don’t support pulling out teeth or plucking out eyes…”

The comment went unchallenged…here’s the problem…none of us support that type of physical torture…and, that type of abuse has never been alleged in the liberal’s battle against “enhanced interrogation techniques.”

Sleep deprivation, humiliation, threats of physical abuse…oh, and water boarding are all enhanced techniques that have been used by our interrogators, but actual physical abuse…never even alleged…we have consistently drawn the line at inflicting physical pain that could cause any long term damage.

So, why do the liberals include eye gouging and teeth pulling to strengthen their argument against enhanced interrogation?

Perhaps because their case against the type of interrogation used by the CIA and Military cannot stand scrutiny if the discussion is limited to the actual facts.

WHAT IS IT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND?

What was the November election about? Government spending…voters clearly wanted smaller government. But the conservatives in Congress are on the verge of folding.

It now looks doubtful that we’ll get any meaningful entitlement reform, so everything else they offer up is only playing in the margins and not solving our real problems.

Their excuse…political reality…meaning they can’t get reform passed in the Senate or signed by the President…and they are plain afraid of standing for the truth for fear of losing an election. Their thought process seems to be, “The voters sent us here to get things done”.

Yes…and No…we didn’t mean, “Do something…even if its wrong.”

We prefer gridlock to more debt. We prefer not raising the debt ceiling if it means more taxes. I’m not sure I know what the short term pain would be if we fail to raise the debt ceiling…but it is certain that the long term pain of unbridled borrowing and spending will destroy America.

WHY IS HE TALKING ABOUT IMMIGRATION?

Have you asked yourself why the president chose last week to address border security and amnesty for illegal immigrants?

It would seem to most Americans that we ought to be hearing his plan on reducing the deficit…or on entitlement reform…or creating jobs…or his plan to reduce gas prices…or a coherent energy policy…or plans to deal with the looming inflation. You think there might be some other things that need more immediate attention?

But think about it…he’s worn out the Osama Bin Laden story…or at least doesn’t like the questions surfacing about the morality of assassinations versus water-boarding. He is bankrupt of any ideas on how to fix what’s broken. His idea of leadership is to call for another commission…so what’s he got to say?

He’s using a tactic we’ve all employed…when you don’t like the current conversation…change the subject. Have you noticed how often this President changes the subject? And, by the way it wouldn’t hurt to buy a few Hispanics votes given his unpopularity with other large voting blocks.

UNDERSTANDING POLLS

What do you make of recent polls showing strong support for a third party?

A majority of Americans support the idea of a viable third party while only 32% believe the current two party system is adequate.

Conventional wisdom completely misreads these poll numbers by focusing on a third party presidential candidate.

The great discontent…and support for a third party rises from the fact that most Americans feel betrayed by Congress. Bickering, posturing, compromise and deceit are the hallmarks of both parties and Congress today.

A third party electing 35 Congressmen would be able to name the Speaker and committee chairs and with that, greatly influence the budget…and the size of the federal government. A parliamentary House would change DC.

A friend, Tim Cox has a plan take over the House in one election cycle…though he is unwilling to call his plan a third party…it truly is an unconventional third party focused solely on the House of Representatives. For more on this potential 2012 third party go to Tim’s website: www.goooh.com.

If you have not yet checked out Tim’s site, put it on your “to-do” list. Mr. Cox, an ordinary man with an extraordinary passion for America may just have the solution. In the past we’ve said, we can’t vote for a third party conservative because that will simply drain votes from the Republican and let the Democrat win the election…

ASK YOURSELF THIS…given that neither party is willing to take our deficits and national debt seriously…does either party really offer a solution to our crisis?

IF YOUR ANSWER IS NO…then ultimately our only hope may be a viable third party representation in the House of Representatives…

COULD IT BE ANY WORSE???

Today Texas was graced by the presence of “dear leader” who told us we were basically full of bullcrap when it comes to the issue of the border.

According to Obama, problem’s fixed and we should shut up.  I thought you all might appreciate this video clip of Congressman Lamar Smith debunking the lies that were spewed in El Paso.

Funny . . . Obama turns up to pander for the. Hispanic vote and raise campaign $$ but won’t acknowledge the devastation caused by weeks of fire and a long drought.  You think he saw any scorched earth from Air Force One?

The last column listed the points of analysis of Barack H. Obama by a classmate of his, Wayne Allyn Root, at Columbia University, class of 1983. Root’s contention is that Obama is “purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos.” Further, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia who outline a plan to socialize America in just that way. To continue with the points:

5) Stimulus and Bailouts. Where did all the money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN) and unions – including billions to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America.

6) Raise Taxes. Yes, raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except for Obama). President Reagan wanted to starve government. Obama wants to raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government, and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by “overwhelming the system.”

Add it up and you’ve got the perfect Marxist scheme – all devised by Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan. This is the change he really promised.

Attend “Recharge America”, a Tax Day Rally, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Linear Park, in front of the Federal Courthouse, Friday, April 15. Bring chairs, food and drink.
