Who We Are
We are friends and neighbors. We come from all walks of life. We work hard and try to live our lives responsibly. We have steady jobs or own small businesses. We are blue collar wage earners, and we are white collar professionals paid a salary. We try to save for the future while providing for our families as best we can. We work hard to instill decency and values in our children.
We disagree with each other on many subjects but will vigorously defend the other guy’s right to his opinion. We understand that our similarities unite us far more than the differences which divide us.
We are the muscle, bone, and sinew of this country. We are the SILENT MAJORITY of Americans who share a common concern that our country is going in the wrong direction. We have come together to voice our common grievances with the Federal Government.
Grievances
- We are fed up with being taxed at every turn to pay for every immoral, greedy and irresponsible act of others.
- We are fed up with the Federal Government wasting our money and spending this country in to bankruptcy.
- We are here to say that BOTH parties are responsible and we are holding every elected official in Washington DC accountable for the damage they are doing to this country. It is time for principal over party.
- We hold as fact that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and it is being trampled by the Federal Government and this will not stand.
Therefore…
We have formed Tea Party chapters in towns throughout the Valley and have connected under the Rio Grande Valley Tea Party Association with headquarters in McAllen, Texas.
We are a non-profit organization looking to change the political scene locally, statewide, and in our nation. Holding Tea Parties is just a means to draw attention to our movement.
Our goal is to educate Americans about the founding documents and principles on which this nation was founded.
We want to take America back to the Constitution of the United States of America!
We are the Silent Majority – No More!
We are here to unite our voices to say – Enough is Enough!
It is time to Bring the Country Back to the Constitution!
